4. 1501, 308 Al Hisn St

Photography Series, 2025 “1501, 308 Al Hisn Street” is a photographic series created in the final days of inhabiting my family’s apartment. Faced with the imminent demolition of my home, I returned to Apartment 1501 in December 2024, just before surrendering the keys, to record what was once mine.
The resulting photographs document both the emptied architecture of the apartment and staged moments of return—re-inserting myself into its familiar domestic spaces: sitting on the carpet, lying in bed, watching an absent television. These performative gestures blur the line between documentation and memory, presence and erasure. The apartment becomes a liminal space, caught between home and ruin, between personal history and urban speculation.
My practice often moves between the intimate and the structural, interrogating the ways cities are shaped by policy, migration, and belonging. In “1501, 308 Al Hisn Street”, I perform the aftermath of eviction, evoking the ghosts of daily life and the lost futures that could have been. It is a meditation on place and precarity—both as an act of farewell and a refusal to forget.
